Things to know about KOIN 6 anchor Ken Boddie

My first professional broadcasting job was as a DJ at WDKX Radio in my hometown of Rochester, New York. I eventually started my own news department.

I was All-Ivy League in Track and Field at Cornell University. My events were long jump and triple jump.

I’m a big Buffalo Bills Fan. Proud we went to 4 straight Super Bowls. Still upset that we lost every one.

My first job in Portland was at KPTV-12. The studios were across the street from what is now Providence Park.

My high school basketball team, the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals, were ranked #5 in New York state my junior year. I played center.

My mom, Nell Peyton, moved to Gresham in 1975, with her husband Alexander, and my younger sister Una.  I followed them to Oregon in 1982.

I have two daughters. Both live on the East Coast. That’s Anika on the left, Jessica on the right.

I lived in Trinidad, West Indies, the year before I moved to Oregon.

I always keep a fresh new pair of white Nike Air Force Ones for special occasions!

Check out the Afro. Those were the days!
