Adam Clemons is an Executive Producer for KOIN 6 News and Portland’s CW, where he currently leads the morning news team.
Previously, Clemons worked as an Assignment Manager and Executive Producer at WMC Action News 5, the NBC affiliate in Memphis, Tennessee. Before moving into management, he served as a producer of the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. shows. Clemons also served as the lead producer on several special show projects including “The Southern Heritage Classic Special” which is one of the largest annual historically black college and university football games in the nation.
Clemons frequently worked with the consumer investigative team in their investigations, providing the skill needed to aggregate hard to find information in an easy-to-consume format. Clemons would also serve as a field producer, often going undercover for special investigations during his time in Memphis. He also field produced feature segments at the Memphis in May World Championship Cooking Contest.
He started his career in Lubbock, Texas at NBC affiliate KCBD NewsChannel 11, the Mid-South’s top news station, where he served as the 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. producer. During his time in Texas, Clemons helped create and launch the station’s 4:00 p.m. newscast which quickly became No. 1 in it’s time slot.
Clemons earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in communication studies from Texas Tech University. He minored in political science. Clemons was raised in Houston and New Orleans.
In his spare time, he enjoys electronic music, politics, computers, movies, trying new things and exploring off the beaten path places.
