Jami Seymore joined the KOIN 6 team in March 2022.
She comes from KOIN’s sister station KRQE in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she worked for three years as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor, covering the state’s biggest stories like the Alec Baldwin ‘Rust’ set shooting, the state’s deadliest hot air balloon crash and its aftermath, and uncovered allegations of abuse in a facility serving special needs children. During her time there, she brought home multiple New Mexico Broadcasting Awards for Best Multimedia Journalist and Breaking News Coverage. It’s also there where she discovered a deep love for green chile.
Prior to that, she spent a year as a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor/producer in Amarillo, TX. Before becoming a reporter, Jami lived in Las Vegas for more than eight years, graduating from UNLV and working behind the scenes in news, including covering the Route 91 shooting tragedy. She was born and raised in “Cereal City” Battle Creek, Michigan.
Jami loves exploring with her terrier mix, Granger, (yes after Hermione Granger), so if you have dog-friendly hiking trails, good books to read, or vegan restaurant suggestions, send it her way.
