Before joining the KOIN 6 News team in 2022, John Ross Ferrara spent seven years honing his skills as a digital reporter with the Lost Coast Outpost in Humboldt County, California. After moving to Portland, John also became a contributor for the Portland Mercury, where he made his mark as a local journalist.
John graduated from Humboldt State University (now Cal Poly Humboldt) in 2015 with a degree in journalism. He’s been covering news around the Pacific Northwest ever since.
