Kaitlin Flanigan is a West Coast native. She graduated from the University of Oregon with two journalism degrees in 2011 and started as KOIN’s digital director in April 2019 after spending eight years in Boston covering everything from the Boston Marathon bombings, the Sandy Hook massacre, the Whitey Bulger trial and much more for NECN.com and NBCBoston.com.
Since arriving in Portland, she’s helped coverage on protests, wildfires and major court cases.
When she’s not in the newsroom, she can usually be found cuddling her husband and dog at home, enjoying the Pacific Northwest’s outdoors, reading a great book or making art.
