Weekend Anchor
Wayne Havrelly is a multiple-Emmy award-winning journalist who grew up in Washougal and worked as an anchor and investigative reporter at stations in Spokane, Orlando, Seattle and Portland.
He’s covered a wide range of stories in his career, including the deadly standoff between the FBI and white separatists at Ruby Ridge in Idaho, deadly wildfires, hurricanes and mass shootings, including the one at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg in 2015. As an investigative reporter, his reports have helped put con artists in jail, changed consumer protection laws and helped recover millions of dollars back to fraud victims.
In addition to broadcasting the news, Wayne has a passion for music. He entertains audiences with his guitar playing and singing skills at local events, along with many Northwest tap houses and wineries.
“KOIN 6 is a newsroom with positive energy and people passionate about informing people in the Portland area, that’s crucial to me because this is my home,” he said.
