2019 NCAA Tournament Tips: Things to do in Des Moines

With eight teams and their fanbases visiting Des Moines for the 2019 NCAA Tournament, here’s some places you can check out while in Iowa’s capital city.

Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden

Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission—$10 for adults, $9 for seniors (65+), $9 for military, $7 for youth (4-17), FREE for children 3 and under

Blank Park Zoo

Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission—$14 for adults, $11 for seniors (65+), $8 for children (3-12), FREE for children 2 and under** (active military, immediate family members of military and veterans receive $2 off)

**Discounted tickets can be purchased online ahead of time

Science Center of Iowa

Open Sunday from 12-5 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday through 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Monday)

Admission—$13 for adults, $9 for seniors (65+) and children (2-12)
