Portland’s own award-winning blues artist Lisa Mann comes to the Waterfront Blues Festival this year with a fellow artist with an amazing history.
Recording artist and Bay Area resident Lara Price was born in Vietnam in the years following the Vietnam war. She was abandoned by her parents and was brought to the United States as part of Operation Baby Lift.
Both artists sit down to talk to Ken Boddie about their very different histories, the influential role music plays in their lives and why they are looking forward to this year’s Waterfront Blues Festival.
