PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN/KRCW) — Portland’s CW is proud to partner with The Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metropolitan Area. This Wednesday, May 25, join Portland’s CW & KOIN 6 for a very special day of giving as we showcase and celebrate all their incredible work.

The clubs provide after-school programs for young people in the community. They also provide a safe place where caring mentors lead life-changing programs that prepare kids and teens for great futures. Its mission is “to empower all young people, especially those who need it most to discover their full potential as caring, engaged, responsible community members.”

When you volunteer at a Boys & Girls Club, you can make a difference in the lives of youth, and give back to your community. Within the first few minutes of walking into a Club, you’ll know you’re in a special place. Filled with the sounds and energy of spirited children and friendly, caring professionals, the Club is a fun and hopeful environment.

Volunteers can help with homework, coach a game, or teach an art project. You’ll have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with young people eager for adult guidance, and have a positive impact for generations to come.

Visit BGCPortland.org and find out how to get involved today. In turn, you will find that spending time with these young people has a positive impact on you as well. Working with youth Means a brighter future for everyone.
