Homicide: Woman’s body dumped at Camp Namanu

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The body of a woman, whose death was ruled a homicide, was found by a summer camp employee on Sunday, and now Clackamas County deputies have a suspect in custody.

Authorities said Martin Gallo-Gallardo was arrested on Monday after he allegedly confessed to murdering his wife. He’s being held on a murder charge. 

The body was first found at 10:30 a.m. by a worker at Camp Namanu, a summer camp near the Sandy River in the Bull Run/Sandy area. Deputies believe the body was dumped either on Sunday or the day before. 

An autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office determined she was the victim of a homicide. y.

Camp Namanu is cooperating with the investigation. They released this statement through the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. 

“Safety is our number one priority for those at camp, including renters, campers and our staff. We have been and will continue to work with the authorities as they investigate this incident.  Our hearts and thoughts go out to the woman and her family.”
