PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For Ramona Locken and Michelle Massey-Henriksbo, Saturday was just another night. They grabbed a bite at Main Event East in Vancouver before the 2 went their separate ways.
Locken had no idea it would be the last time she’d see her friend.
On Sunday, at approximately 1:17a.m., Michelle was riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle when the driver headed the wrong way on eastbound SR 14, according to Washington State Police. The vehicle collided with 2 other vehicles.
Michelle, who had just celebrated her 47th birthday, died at the scene.
The driver — 33-year-old Aaron Dohman — in Michelle’s car and another passenger were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Dohman later died of his injuries. The driver of another vehicle, Edgar Acosta, 35, was also killed in the crash.
“Shocking,” Locken said regarding Michelle’s death. “It’s just shocking.
“She was just really loyal friend and would just love and hug on her friends.”
Erin Martuscelli remembers Michelle the same way. She said she was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother. She’s survived by 3 kids — 2 sons and a daughter– and a granddaughter. Erin said she was also a caretaker for her own mother and grandmother.
“She’s just that type of person that would knock on your door, just take the shirt off of her back for you,” Erin said. “Very loyal, just so committed, faithful friend.”
Gone, but not forgotten.
“Just an amazing human being,” Erin said, “and I know God got an angel today.”
Acosta leaves behind a wife and 3 kids, “and many others that love him,” his wife, Daisha, told KOIN 6 News.
“This really was a horrible thing that happened that took him from us,” Daisha said. “He was such a great guy, father, and loved by everyone.”

About an hour later — at 2:12 a.m. — another wrong-way crash happened on SR 14, just west of Columbia House Blvd.
The small car was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it struck another vehicle head-on. The driver of the wrong-way car — a male and only occupant — sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The second vehicle, driven by a male and suspected of a DUI, was also taken to a hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown. His passenger, a female, was also transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.
Troopers said the third vehicle involved was driven by a female and had a female passenger. Both sustained bumps and bruises. It’s currently unclear if either of them were taken to a hospital.
WSP troopers said they suspect alcohol was a factor in both crashes.
“Most of the time we find it’s a driver error — it’s a driver causing and it’s not an engineering issue on the roadway,” said WSP Trooper Will Finn.
