Teen remembered after drowning at Lacamas Lake

CLARK COUNTY, Wash. (KOIN) — It’s been 2 days since a young boy drowned while swimming at Lacamas Lake, cutting short a life treasured by many.

Candles, balloons, cards and stuffed animals now line the side of the bridge 14-year-old Anthony Huyngh jumped from on Tuesday evening.

He was swimming with a group of friends when he disappeared. One friend called his home when they couldn’t find him around 6 p.m., but he wasn’t there.

A dive team was called in after Anthony’s bag and belongings were found on the bank of the lake.

Divers pulled his body from the water around 9:30 p.m.

Anthony’s death marks the first drowning at Lacamas Lake this year, officials said.

It’s also a tragic reminder to wear a life jacket when taking part in water activities.

A GoFundMe page has raised more than $10,000 to support Anthony and his family.
