PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 60-acre section of property located north of Forest Park has received a conservation easement donation.
This is the first donation of its kind in more than 25 years, and the Forest Park Conservancy is making sure it won’t be the last.
The conservation easement isn’t a direct expansion of the park, rather landowners Diane Field and Richard Williams have donated most of the rights to their property to the Forest Park Conservancy via a conservation easement. The Field-Williams property is part of the larger Greater Forest Park landscape.
The nonprofit’s conservation director Alejandro Orizola shared more details with AM Extra.
