2012 Portland killer sentenced to 20 years

Xabier Riley pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree. (Multnomah County Jail)

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Xabian Riley pleaded guilty on Thursday for causing the death of Kenneth Ray Henry back in 2012.

Riley was 1 of 3 men found guilty by a Multnomah County jury in 2014.

Henry was shot to death May 9, 2012, after he answered the doorbell at his home in the 15200 block of NE Sandy Boulevard.

Following the shooting, there was a 3-hour standoff between police and the suspects — Marcus Ramone Allen, Tracey Christopher Lomax and Riley — at an apartment. Police said the men were inside cleaning and changing clothes.

In December 2017, the Oregon Court of Appeals overturned the convictions for all 3 men and sent the cases back to Multnomah County to be re-tried.

By now pleading guilty to 1 count of manslaughter in the first degree, Riley was sentenced to a 20-year prison sentence.
