Man facing attempted murder for NE Portland shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, stemming from a shooting in Northeast Portland on March 12. 

Ervan Ronnell Herring, 25, was booked into Multnomah County Jail on March 23 and was indicted on Tuesday by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. He’s also facing an attempted first-degree assault charge as well as 7 counts of unlawful use of a weapon. 

Police responded to the 6300 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on March 12 right before 6 p.m. and found 15 shell casings. An investigation found that people in 2 vehicles were shooting at each other.

Herring was arrested and booked 11 days later. It’s not known if any other arrests have been made in the case.
