PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — O’Bryant Square Park and the SmartPark Garage underneath are closed indefinitely.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) and Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) say structural issues in the parking garage are of concern. The garage had closed previously to undergo an assessment where concrete damage was discovered.
The assessment found risk to the park as well. The assessment found deficiencies in joists, walls, columns and footings.
The park was fenced off March 5 and it’s unknown when it will be able to reopen.
