PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — About 25 drivers for Ross Island Sand & Gravel Company will be laid off under a restructuring plan confirmed by the company president and CEO Randall Steed.
Steed told KOIN 6 News they company decided to discontinue their ready mix concrete operations. That means their cement trucks will be discontinued and won’t be used.
Beyond the drivers, a few other employees will also be laid off, though he wasn’t specific in which areas.
The company remains in business, he said, and all other operations are still going. Steed said Ross Island Sand & Gravel will focus on their aggregate sales and mining divisions.
The restructuring is an ongoing process and he wasn’t sure about the total number of employees who will be impacted.
