Video: Surfers airlifted safely near Ecola State Park

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two surfers were airlifted to safety by the US Coast Guard after becoming stranded on rocks near Ecola State Park Sunday afternoon.

A person heard the surfers shouting for help and called 911, the Coast Guard said in a tweet. An aircrew from Astoria took off to rescue them and safely hoisted them one after the other.

The surfers were not hurt.
