PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person was killed in a Corbett house fire on Sunday morning, officials said.
Firefighters responded to reports of the fire on Hurlburg Road around 8 a.m.
“Around maybe 8, a little before that, heard a couple loud booms,” neighbor Sam Loeung told KOIN 6 News. “We saw flames coming up and you could tell where it was coming from.”
First responders found the deceased person’s body in a garage attached to the home, according to Corbett fire personnel.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A dog and cat belonging to the family affected by the fire are still missing.
