PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Three men are in custody on drug and weapons charges after shots were fired in the early hours of Saturday in Portland.

A witness called police after hearing shots fired from a dark-colored vehicle at SE 83rd and Burnside around 3:25 a.m. Officers were sent to the area and saw a similar car pulled to the curb at NE 83rd near Davis, authorities said.

One person tried to walk away but was stopped, and officers saw two others in the car. Authorities said they also noticed a shotgun on the backseat floor.

The three were arrested and a search found cocaine and thousands of dollars in cash in the car.

Robert Jermaine Richardson Jr., 20, faces cocaine possession and unlawful use of a firearm.  Ismail Sharif Abdullahi, 23, faces the same charges.

Dajuan Travonte Shakier, 23, who was the car’s driver, faces cocaine possession, being a felon in possession of a firearm and a parole violation, police said.

No one was hurt in the gunfire, authorities said.

All three are expected to be arraigned Monday.
