Adults flee campground, kids may be endangered

WALTON, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities are looking for 2 adults with 2 young children who eluded deputies 3 times while leaving a campground in Lane County Friday.

The driver, Justin Mark Pederson, is wanted at this time for reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

Deputies were called to the area of Siuslaw River Road and Whitaker Creek because of suspicious behavior by Pederson and Ellis in the campground and recreational areas.

Pederson, 35, drove away at a very high rate of speed and authorities said they did not pursue because of the small children – a 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl — in the car.

They may still be in a black 1994 Honda Accord 4-door with red wheels. Its Oregon license plate is 748-BRC. Officials said the plate may be missing.

Pederson’s girlfriend, Koda Marie Ellis, 23, and the children are considered endangered and possibly missing.

A search for the adults and kids continued since Friday. Now, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office released information about the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541.682.4150.
