1 dead after shooting near Glass House Tavern

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man died early Tuesday morning after officers responded to a shooting near the Glass House Tavern in Northeast Portland.

Portland police said they received a report of gunfire around 1:30 a.m.

When officers arrived at 9710 NE Sandy Blvd. they found a man — later identified as 27-year-old Tajheondre M. Price of Eugene — lying on the sidewalk suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy showed that he died from multiple gunshot injuries.

During the initial investigation, staff at a local hospital told dispatch that a man arrived at the hospital’s emergency department by private vehicle. He was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Officers believe the man was injured in the shooting.

Northeast Sandy Boulevard was closed from I-205 to Northeast 102nd Avenue due to the investigation, but has since reopened.
