PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two people died in a crash on Southwest Farmington Road in Aloha Wednesday evening, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
Both victims were in a blue Chrysler Sebring that crashed with a Chevy Silverado near the intersection with Southwest 196th Avenue.
The first deputy to arrive at the crash tried to save the car’s driver and passenger but they died at the scene, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the truck was unhurt and was cooperating with authorities.
Investigators said the Chrysler, which was heading eastbound on Southwest Farmington, appeared to have been speeding when it crossed the center line while speeding, into the path of the westbound pickup.
Deputies think several people witnessed the crash but didn’t stop. They’re asking anyone who saw the incident to call non-emergency dispatch at 503.629.0111.
Oregon state law requires drivers who witness a crash to stop and provide their information to the drivers who were involved or to law enforcement.
