PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman was driving early Wednesday morning in Aloha when she was rear-ended at around 40 miles per hour.
The car that hit her drove off but its bumper was left behind and the woman recognized the license plate.
Deputies said it was her husband’s.
The victim’s Dodge Durango was hit just before 4 a.m. near the intersection of Southwest Farmington Road and Southwest 185th Avenue. The impact caused it to spin out and come to rest on the eastbound shoulder.
The woman told deputies at the scene she found the front bumper of the car that hit her on the road with a license plate still attached, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
She said the license plate belonged to her husband’s car.
Deputies said they found her husband’s damaged Chevy Cruz near Southwest 192nd Avenue and Southwest Murphy Court. Deputies said they also found a small bag of methamphetamine inside the car.
The suspect, 30-year-old Adan Perez Martinez, told deputies he blacked out and didn’t remember the crash, according to officials. He reported meeting with his wife earlier despite there being a no-contact order against him.
Martinez was arrested on charges of hit-and-run, possession of meth, 4th-degree assault and probation violation. His bail was set at $10,000.
