PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The woman who shot and killed her soon-to-be-ex-husband after reportedly getting into an argument on Monday has not been arrested, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said the woman remained at the scene as investigators went through the home to start their investigation and said she is being cooperative.

Officers responded to the shooting along Germantown Road Monday afternoon. The man was shot in the bedroom of the home that the couple once shared. Investigators said the two had been going through a divorce.

Deputies said the husband had come over to pick up some belongings. There was some sort of argument right before the shooting. The woman told authorities that the husband pulled a gun on her, and she ended up firing at him with her own firearm, said the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies recovered 2 handguns at the scene, and also said that it was the woman who called 911 after the shooting.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue attempted to save the man, but he ultimately died at the scene.

The husband was identified as 62-year-old Philip Louis Cloud on Wednesday. The wife has not been identified at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
