PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police launched a search Wednesday night for the suspect who shot and killed a man in Northeast Portland.
Portland police said they found 39-year-old Quincy Gill just after 9:15 p.m. near NE Garfield Avenue and NE Fremont Street. Gill died at the scene despite emergency efforts, officers said.
The suspect fled the area, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Authorities are treating Gill’s death as a homicide.
A vigil for Gill, who was a father, will take place Thursday at 6 p.m. at NE Fremont Street and NE Garfield Avenue.
The investigation is ongoing.
