‘TriMet Barber’ banned for life by agency

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Jared Walter, the so-called TriMet Barber, has received the transit agency’s first-ever lifetime exclusion ban.

Walter, who has repeatedly sexually assaulted women over the course of a number of years, again targeted women using TriMet, including 2 separate cases in March 2019.

He currently is in the Multnomah County Jail on his latest charges issued in March.

TriMet said the exclusion takes effect immediately.

The general manager of TriMet met with the Multnomah County District Attorney and reviewed evidence before issuing the lifetime exclusion ban against Walter.

“Unfortunately, he continues to re-offend and we hope this sends a strong message that you cannot do this on our system,” said TriMet spokesperson Roberta Altstadt.
