CLACKAMAS, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon State Police arrested a driver with a .16% blood alcohol level after he allegedly hit a bridge support and destroyed his wheel.
Oregon State Police Lt. Bill Fugate said just before 6 a.m. Saturday, a trooper noticed a car speeding southbound on I-205 in Clackamas. The driver was going 76 mph in a 55 mph zone.
The driver, Vicente Burciago, tried to exit the freeway at Highway 224, but instead left the road and hit a bridge support.
The trooper attempted to make a traffic stop but Fugate says Burciago drove away, despite a flat tire and damage to his car. Burciago eventually stopped after his wheel disintegrated.
Burciago, 25, faces several charges, including DUII and Reckless Driving.
