Firefighters rescue man in rollover accident

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Portland Fire & Rescue crews had to call in an additional engine to rescue a man who was trapped in his car after a rollover crash Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred on Airport Way at 128th Ave. shortly after 1 pm.

According to Portland Fire & Rescue, the car overturned onto its roof after striking the median.

Crews were able to make contact with the drive, who was unable to remove himself from the overturned vehicle.

The call was upgraded to a “Pin-in” response, and an additional engine was called in. It took approximately 20 minutes to safely remove the man from the wreckage.

The man, who is said to be in his 30’s, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
