Man shot to death in St. Johns identified

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man found shot to death in St. Johns early Thursday morning has been identified as 19-year-old Dalton Marshall. Marshall’s death is the city of Portland’s 29th homicide of the year and was the second in about 12 hours.

Police told KOIN 6 News they were sent to the intersection of North Bruce Avenue and Hudson Street on the report that a man was down in the street, bleeding and unconscious. He was shot at least once and died at the scene.

Police think the Vancouver man was socializing along North Interstate before his death.

KOIN 6 News spoke with a man who said he was in the area around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when he heard a shooting in the distance. The person who called 911 told officers the man was in the street, face down and bleeding.

Officers are asking for neighbors to report suspicious activity “including anyone who heard or saw anything in the neighborhood.”On Wednesday, the bureau responded to its 28th homicide for 2015. No one has been taken into custody for that shooting.

Police are asking that anyone with information on either case to call 502.823.3333.
