Man who filmed sex abuse of minor gets 17 years

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man who videotaped himself sexually abusing a minor was sentenced to 17 years in prison.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office said Lucas Ebert, 28, admitted to sexually abusing a girl under age 14 on multiple occasions and filmed it. 

Investigators also learned Ebert was running an unlicensed construction business and stole about $175,000 from a woman over age 65 who he was involved in a relationship with. 

Ebert pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated theft, contracting without a valid license, identity theft, witness tampering, using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct, four counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree invasion of privacy.

He has also been ordered to register as a sex offender and pay nearly $3,000 to the Multnomah County child abuse assessment center, CARES Northwest and $60,000 in restitution and fines to three victims.
