Siletz HS staff member accused of sex abuse with student

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A staff member at Siletz Valley High School was arrested for misdemeanor charges on Sunday after the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said he had inappropriate contact with a minor student on campus during normal school hours. 

Joseph Bailor, 55, was arrested for misdemeanor charges relating to the investigation. He was lodged in Lincoln County Jail on $50,000 bail. 

Deputies said they were first notified of possible inappropriate contact between a student and staff member on Jan. 9. They eventually identified Bailor as the staff member. 

Through the investigation, detectives said they looked at digital evidence and interviewed witnesses. They forwarded that information to the Lincoln County Detective’s Office. Specifically, they referred consideration of third-degree sex abuse charges. 

A misdemeanor warrant was issued for Bailor on April 11. He was arrested 11 days latter.
