Unlike most of the country, PNW drinking more beer

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A new report says the Washington and Oregon are consuming more beer instead of less, like many other states. 

The Visual Capitalist reports that numbers show Oregon beer consumption is up 9% and Washington 9.1% in the last 5 years. Many other states are showing signs of consumption trending down.

Per capita consumption for Washington is 24.7 gallons while in Oregon it’s 30 gallons. Although the numbers aren’t the highest in the country, the increase in consumption is the highest in the country. 

The report says that beer consumption across the country has been dropping since the 80’s.
