Passerby spots flames from NE Portland building

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An alert passerby noticed flames pouring from a commercial building in Northeast Portland very early Saturday and fire crews were able to quickly knock it down.

Around 6 a.m. flames were seen coming out of a building in the 8100 block of NE 14th Place. Portland police arrived just before PF&R crews.

The fire was quickly handled, but it is not clear at this time where it started. A fire investigator will look into the cause.

There is no report of injuries at this time.
