Woman shot to death; brother-in-law charged with murder

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman was shot and killed in North Portland Sunday morning and police later arrested her brother-in-law.

Officers responded to a reported shooting on North Newman Avenue, between North Winchell Street and North Kilpatrick Avenue, at around 8:30 a.m. At the scene, they found Alexandra R. Arb-Bloodgood already dead. She was 29.

Police arrested Shane Michael Finnell, 25, Sunday evening in connection to the homicide. He was booked into the Multnomah County jail on murder and unlawful use of a weapon charges.

The probable cause document obtained by KOIN 6 News said Finnell and his brother — Alexandra’s husband — got into an argument about laundry early Sunday morning. Finnell then allegedly walked up behind her and shot her in the back of the head.
