PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A heavy police presence responded to Southeast Portland after a person was shot in the leg late Thursday night, authorities said.
Shortly after 11 p.m., the officers were called to the area of Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast 31st Avenue. At the scene, a witness told KOIN 6 he heard the gunfire.
Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside an RV parked behind a nearby auto repair shop. Officers applied two tourniquets to the man’s leg before paramedics rushed him to a hospital for further treatment where his wounds were determined to be non-life-threatening, authorities said.
Police did not locate any suspects or provide a suspect description.
An investigation is underway.
