PPB rush to SE Portland over domestic violence call

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Police quickly descended into the Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood after getting reports of a possible domestic disturbance involving a firearm.

The incident was reported around 4:30 a.m. Friday in the area of Southeast 77th and Southeast Woodstock.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Chris Burley said someone called into non-emergency to report a potential life-threatening situation.

Officers on scene told KOIN 6 News the caller reported shooting a family member.

The all clear was given around 6 a.m. Friday after police looked into the credibility of the initial report and after speaking with neighbors.

There were no other reports from other neighbors about any possible disturbance, police said.

For about 90 minutes, police had asked people living in the area to stay inside and report anything unusual.
