PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Snow is sticking as it falls at a rate of 2 inches per hour in the Portland Metro Area. Slowed traffic, and a series of crashes, are showing the effect the weather is having on the roads.
Multiple crashes involving multiple vehicles slowed down US 26 in both directions near the Oregon Zoo at Washington Park.
An ODOT employee was struck while outside of his vehicle in that area, as well, according to Portland Police. There were no injuries reported.
It took hours for the highway to clear.
“It’s awful. It really is,” said one traveler. “Don’t drive if you don’t have to.”
Our Chris Holmstrom was live on the scene. Watch the video from the scene below.
