KELSO, Wash. (KOIN) — The man accused of driving the getaway car after a 30-year-old convenience store clerk was fatally shot in Kelso pleaded not guilty to all charges on Thursday morning.
Erkinson Bossy, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the course of another crime, robbery with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Bossy is also accused of leading authorities on a chase down Interstate 84 in February from Vancouver to Portland when police tried to pull his car over in a traffic stop. A gun battle between those in the car and the officers ensued before police were able to arrest Bossy.
At the time, Bossy was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He didn’t have gunshot wounds, according to authorities.
Bossy is one of three men thought to be involved in the incident at Holt’s Quick Chek on January 22. Kayla Chapman was shot and killed while she was working. She was able to call 911 before succumbing to her injuries.
D’Anthony Leslie Williams, 19, is accused of shooting Chapman. He pleaded not guilty in February.
The third suspect, Nenemeny Ekiek, is accused of a providing a gun and a bandana for the robbery. He pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and possession of meth in April.
Bossy’s trial will begin at the end of June.
