PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 28-year-old woman was arrested late Tuesday night after officials say she crashed her car into the McKenzie River.
Oregon State Police responded to the rollover crash on Highway 126E near milepost 32 at 11:42 p.m.
According to the preliminary investigation, a white 2006 Mazda SUV left the road for unknown reasons and rolled down a 75-foot embankment before coming to a rest in the river.
The driver — Shyla Marie Holloway — suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
She was arrested for DUII. Authorities said her BAC was .16, which is twice the legal limit, several hours after the crash.
The SUV remained in the river overnight. The highway near milepost 32 will face possible closures Wednesday when authorities remove it.
