PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The man known as the “TriMet Barber” is heading back to jail after violating his parole — for riding TriMet.
Court documents show Jared West Walter was arrested on July 5 after failing to report to his parole officer. When they arrested him, they found a TriMet ticket on him, which they later confirmed had been used that day.
“When asked if he had taken the MAX, Mr. Walter leaned over, placed his head in his hands, and didn’t answer,” a probable cause affidavit shows.
Walter, a 31-year-old registered sex offender, after he was convicted of several crimes on TriMet dating back to 2010. All crimes were similar: he would cut women’s hair on TriMet, earning him his nickname.
In a 2013 case, he masturbated and ejaculated on women passengers sitting in front of him.
Walter will spend 100 days in Washington County Jail for the parole violation as well as continue his five-year probation.
