Yearlong burglary investigation lands 1 in jail

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —- A yearlong investigation has resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old woman who is accused of burglarizing several homes and stealing the identity of multiple people, officials said.

Police arrested Krystal Louise Tisdale on Monday. She appeared in court this week on 4 counts of first-degree burglary and 5 counts of identity theft.

According to court documents filed by Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Christopher Shull:

–       April 12, 2014 – a woman’s home was burglarized while the victim was sleeping. Tisdale ended up stealing the victim’s purse. The same evening, the victim’s credit card was used a two gas stations, a Jack in the Box and online at beatsbydre.com. Detectives then learned that the order used to make the online purchase included Tisdale’s address and an email address using her alias.

–       April 14, 2014 – a woman reported that her home was broken into and that her TV was stolen.

–       April 20, 2014 – A laptop, TV and jewelry were stolen during a burglary.

–       December 18, 2014 – A man reported that his iPad was stolen during a burglary.

Detective Stephen Gandy interviewed Tisdale first claimed she had never entered the homes. She told the detective she was helping a man sell property that he would steal. When Gandy looked through her cellphone, he found text messages sent by Tisdale shortly after 3 of the burglaries, in which she was said to be bragging, court documents state.

When detectives obtained a search warrant so they could look at the cellphone GPS location data on Tisdale’s phone, they discovered it placed her in the area of the first burglary on April 12, 2014.

The investigation continues. Tisdale remains in custody at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail.
