PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The NFL has reportedly suspended Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed for six games. The disciplinary action was first reported by The NFL Network. The Seahawks have not confirmed the suspension. It is the result of a domestic violence investigation dating back to 2017. Reed was never arrested or charged in the matter.
Reed is the best player returning to the Seahawks defensive line, registering 10.5 sacks last season. His success led Seattle to trade Frank Clark to Kansas City during the offseason.
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Reed appealed the suspension but the league denied his request on Friday.
Seahawks training camp opens in Renton, Washington on Thursday.
