PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Sixteen of the top college basketball teams are in Portland for the tip-off of the PK80 tournament beginning Thursday.
Number 1 Duke, Number 4 Michigan State, Number 7 Florida, Number 9 North Carolina and Number 17 Gonzaga are among the teams facing off in the holiday weekend tournament at the Moda Center and Memorial Coliseum.
The Ducks will also play, and they practiced Friday at Moda. Coming off a Final 4 appearance last season, the Ducks are 4-0 so far this season even though 4 of last year’s starting 5 have moved on. The only one left is West Linn’s Peyton Pritchard.
“It’s a big leadership jump from this year to last year,” Pritchard told KOIN 6 News. “Being such a young person on the team last year to kind of being older, but I got older guys to help me along the way.
Oregon faces U-Conn at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Moda Center. The game will be televised on ESPN-U, and all the games in the tournament will be televised.
