Dye, Brown, Cardwell lead Oregon over Washington State

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Travis Dye ran for one score and caught an Anthony Brown pass for another as the Oregon Ducks rolled over the Washington State Cougars Saturday night in Eugene.

With the 38-24 win, the Ducks improve to 9-1 overall and keep their hopes for a College Football Playoff berth alive. The Cougars fell to 5-5.

The Ducks took a 14-0 lead into the second quarter, but the Cougars tied it just before halftime.

But in the 3rd quarter, Brown ran 17 yards for a score and Oregon added a field goal to once again take a 10-point lead into the final stanza.

The Cougars cut the lead to 7 when Dean Janikowski made a field goal with 8:31 left.

Then Byron Cardwell took over for the Ducks, scoring on runs of 27 and 22 yards to open up a 38-17 lead with about 2 minutes to play.

The Cougars added a TD with just 9 seconds left for the final score.
