PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The normally quiet town of Philomath found itself dealing with a crime spree Tuesday when a group of 5 young men allegedly broke into several homes, including a police officer’s.
Dante Duckworth, Luis Blanco Jr., Dontay Willis and Christian Freeman all face charges including first-degree burglary and theft. The fifth suspect is a minor.
The suspects are accused of breaking into 4 houses and a car, rummaging through them and taking whatever they could get their hands on. The biggest hit was to the Corvallis police officer’s house, where a pistol, shotgun, AR-15 and 2 other rifles were all stolen.
The crime spree continued into a house where a door had been left open. The suspects allegedly grabbed watches, a computer and a phone while the homeowner was in the shower.
From another home officials said they stole cash, jewelry and medication.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office said the firearms have been recovered and the suspects are all behind bars at the county jail.
The Philomath School District said one of the suspects is a student there.
