PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Those who were dreaming of beating rush-hour traffic Monday afternoon had a not-so-pleasant surprise waiting for them on Highway 217.

Tigard Police say a rear-end crash involving at least five vehicles occurred on Highway 217 near Greenburg Road around 3 p.m. The collision caused a major traffic backup that lasted for over an hour.

The Greenburg exit on Highway 217 was closed as a result, according to Tigard PD.

Few details about the crash are available, but officers were on the scene along with several tow trucks. It’s not yet clear if anyone was injured.
