LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (KOIN) — A 50-year-old woman was found dead in her Lake Oswego home and her husband was found injured in their garage in what police describe as suspicious circumstances.

When their 18-year-old son got home shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday, he called the Lake Oswego police and fire departments because of a medical situation. When they arrived at the home in the 4000 block of Bass Lane they found Michael David Winchester, 52, inside the garage.

When they searched the house, the body of Heidi Anne Winchester was found.

A murder weapon — not a gun — was found at the scene, KOIN 6 News learned.

Authorities said Thursday Heidi Winchester’s death is “considered suspicious and the police are currently with the suspect whose name will not be released at this time.”

Neither of their sons is considered a suspect, police said.

Michael Winchester was taken to a hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.
