PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 2-year-old girl reported missing around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night was found safe about a quarter-mile from her home — laying down in tall grass.

The girl’s family noticed she was missing and began looking for her, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said. But they called for help when they didn’t find her.

An all-out search began on the ground, in the air with drones and an airplane, K9 units and other resources, officials said in a release. The area near her home on Yoder Road near Hwy 211 has “large fields, wooded areas and small bodies of water,” they said.

The search continued through the night. On Sunday, the Water Rescue Team also arrived to look.

But around 11 a.m., officials said, the searchers found the girl laying in tall grass not far from her home. She was alert and reunited with her family, officials said, but taken to the hospital to be checked out.
