PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — On Tuesday, Oct. 8, KOIN 6 moved to a new over-the-air transmitter and new state-of-the-art antenna.
Our channel is staying the same, but if you watch us using an antenna or if you have had trouble receiving our over-the-air signal, you’ll need to rescan your TV.
Here’s what you need to know:
- From your TV menu, select “Scanning” or “Autotune.” It may take several minutes. If you can’t find it, try hitting the setup or menu button on your remote control.
- If you subscribe to cable or satellite, you’re automatically updated.
Why do you need to do this? Due to FCC requirements in 2018, KOIN TV was relocated to a new over-the-air frequency — channel 25 (6.1) — which required the installation of a new transmitter and new antenna.
KOIN will once again broadcast over-the-air at full power with significant improvements in our over-the-air coverage area starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
